Super happy so I’m just drawing my new favourite character from the Ace Attorney world, Ray Shields or Tateyuki Shigaraki; I can’t help but grin ear to ear whenever he’s on screen. I’ve been recently playing the first two cases of fan-translated Ace Attorney Investigation 2 game and I figured I could draw some fanart to get rid of the rust. …And could use some practice drawing hats.
More brainstorming and doodling my way out of a writer’s block.
Trace Guillor, one of the squad leaders for the Chitin Platoon, and Clay happens to be his squad. Trace is a very cheery and pragmatic fella who can switch between Teras killer to best bro in a snap. He can come off overly-friendly, to the point people think he’s gay or bisexual, but a cordial and gracious person is a breath of fresh air and morale booster in a world of despair and relentless destruction. A great mentor and drinking buddy.
The jumpsuits they wear is their uniform— easy to slip off with magnet clips and buttons. During the process of forming their armoured body, rookies will inadvertently rip up their clothes and end up stark naked after removing their armour. Eventually they will master their armour so it “creeps” over and under their clothes without destroying it.

Some more random doodles. This time focusing on Death. Death one of the few motifs in all parts (but 3 so far) in my story. Important yet not at the same time. Just one of the bizarre elements in the story’s world.
Characters who encounter Death have their own interpretation of the entity— some borrowing off stories, cultures or just a random hodgepodge of death symbolism. Special circumstances must be met for someone to meet Death personally and it goes without punishment, unfortunately.

Random doodles of Clay’s and possible other’s armoured form, tentatively called “Chitins” but also loosely called “grins” “cara(pace)s” or “teras”. This is for part 2 of my story that’s, also, tentatively called “World’s Cocoon”.
Everyone has their distinguishable helmet, armour design and weapons, but they’re not restricted to one weapon. They can morph their armour into other objects though they usually stick with what they find effective. It’s kind of difficult to think of other melee weapons they can creatively form— especially involving the legs. The forms are self-explanatory but tendrils which are basically vampiric tentacles. These special people act as mercenaries to fend off mindless bone and skin monsters, the teras or “terrors”, while protecting their benefactors. Though they have a bad rep because they look like the scourge ruining the world. How they become them is rather unfortunate but why is a complete mystery.

Getting story ideas out of my head and onto “paper”. Gene Michaels, aka Caderyn, a wandering child finding his purpose in multiple dimensions for my slice-of-life story tentatively called “Wanderlust”, part 3 of a collection of 4 stories. He is a Gatewalker, dimension jumper, plane strider, sliiiiider, etc. godling, traveling to different worlds to absorb their culture and help anyone along the way. The proxy trinkets serve as reminders of different dimensions Caderyn is fond of and/or wish to return sometime in the future.
Errol Prentiss, or Faylinn, is a stowaway who Caderyn rescued from a lynching, though she didn’t escape unscathed but lost her radiant voice.
They have aliases to escape or shed away from their previous life as they are orphans from another world.

Compilation of travel doodles I’ve done since last year in my little notebook. It was awkward trying to explain the last one to my travel friend without sounding creepy. Ripple and bomb came out of the conversation.

The Red OCT is open for submissions :D
It has been a while since I’ve drawn something for myself outside of work. A bit of a stress relief :)
Things I’ve noticed: I’ve been drawing heads unusually large— something I can’t catch when drawing with a pencil, and I have this obsession with intestines when it comes to disembowelment, heh.

The Red OCT starting next moooooonth~~~~!
The other two characters that’ll be accompanying Sali in the cyberpunk OCT, Restart OCT, next summer. I also wanted to make a mascot/kiosk NPC but I’ve restrict myself to stick with three while judges make their own for a total of eight.
Anyways, the first dude is Julian Rowley. An assertive and stern police chief of the CRD (Capgras Resolution Division) and was living the life hunting down doppelgangers and punching in the law. That is, until he was caught embezzling millions from the organization. To prevent this scandal getting out of hand, Julian was pressured into an experiment to keep his job and prestige. The experiment was literally selling his body to science. Limb by limb, organ by organ, they were replaced by a synthetic counterpart, and the last to be taken is his mind, thus, making him a mindless dog of the government. As synthetic-transplants ate away his humanity, the more passive-aggressive and hostile he became. Any strike that lands on his record (be it minor or not) will be the end of his spiraling life.
Next up is Min-Jung Dae, the interim CEO of Echo Technologies, the company that bestowed the world of memory isolating devices. Previously the CTO, she is replacing the late CEO of ET who was brutally murdered for sensitive information about the devices they manufacture and leaked it on the web in the form of an encrypted riddle. This sparked the scavenger hunt of all levels of society for the valuable intel. Cool-headed and quite the mysophobe, she is working to the grave to pick up what the late CEO had left and figure out the location of the intel before it falls into the wrong hands. Though she wished to join the hunt, she instead hired hunters of her own in her stead.
I haven’t sketched with a pencil in a looooong time… dem proportions, and I can’t get rid of the ghosting in the second image. That’s notebook paper for you~! The top right head of Julian looks like Jenson, heh.
